It is the reason we're always recommending that you come in as soon as your dress is available for your first consultation cause with enough time, almost any restyling idea is possible. More time allows us to make your dream dress a reality and gives you peace of mind.

That said, please don't forget to bring your gowns in for cleaning before stains become difficult to remove or even permanent. We also have some options for preservation that will keep your gown in the best possible quality after cleaning for years to come.

Whenever a season starts to wind down, we immediately start planning the next one ahead of our winter break. I am so grateful for all of the 2027 brides who have already booked their consultations with us. I say it all of the time. It is NEVER too early to come see us.

If you know when you'll have your dress available, book as soon as you can. Final fittings are always as close as possible to your event date to ensure the best fit, but starting early opens up a whole world of new options to explore. More importantly, it gives you the peace of mind to know you can take your time throughout the entire alterations process.

It is usually very difficult for us to be able to schedule grad dresses with how busy we are fortunate enough to be each spring and summer, but when it works out and we get to see photos like these, it makes me wish we could do so many more! The excitement the grads bring each visit is so infectious and we are so honoured to be a small part of their big journeys💖💫

Oftentimes I will hear how lace gowns look so difficult to work with while plain dresses should be "easy," but I don't agree with that. Frankly, I don't think that anything comes easy when doing alterations on any kind if wedding dress, but when comparing the two, lace can provide a lot of flexibility in how we can approach a project.

Contrarily, plain wedding gowns can be very unforgiving as every detail is always visible and a single misplaced stitch will draw the attention of the eye. You need to be absolutely certain with each cut and are limited in the ways that you can rework them.

I'm especially curious to hear from other seamstresses if you have an "easier" time with one style over another? At the end of the day, we all need to be comfortable with everything that comes through our doors, but it's interesting how preconceived notions about what we do and the time that it should take inform the clients we work with.

"A bit of a heavier post today but I think it's important to remember everything that we put into our craft. I was recently informed that a colleague of ours in another province had a stress related health scare earlier this season. We're sending her lots of love, but I thought it was important to share so that we don't take our wellbeing for granted. While we always do everything we can to accommodate everyone that we work with, little things like arriving late to a fitting and your appointment overlapping with the next one, or last minute cancellations and alterations plans changing can demand a lot of our entire team. We love what we do and there is nothing I would trade getting to work on beautiful dresses each day for. We are also people who are doing our best. It never hurts to remember that and to take a moment to care for ourselves and each other💖💫"

Receiving your photos from your big day is the greatest compliment. The work we do is so personal to us, so it is tremendously meaningful when we get to see the culmination of the time spent with your gown. Even if you don't want it shared on our pages, just getting to look at them in the studio always makes our day.
