A Golden Era
A glimpse into an era when the automobile was more than transportation. It was craftsmanship, prestige and elegance.
The name Mercedes has an unusual story. It comes from Mercédès Jellinek, born in 1889, daughter of businessman and automobile enthusiast Emil Jellinek. He used his daughter’s name for Daimler cars and racing, and “Mercedes” became an official trademark in 1902. A young girl’s first name eventually became one of the most famous names in automotive history.
