This Saturday, we return to Engelberg for the third edition of Engelberg Backyard. With the start list sold out, it is hard not to smile.

The idea started with a simple question: how far could we run in a day? A few years ago, we became curious about the Backyard format and wanted to try it for ourselves. After looking at different races, we eventually asked: why not create our own?

Together with our friends at , we wanted to build an event that went beyond competition. Something about testing your own limits, sharing the experience, and bringing people together through movement in the mountains. So we made it happen.

During the first edition, after 80 km in cold rain, the idea felt slightly less brilliant than it had on paper. But despite the weather, the tired legs, and a very long day, we knew almost immediately that we had to do it again.

Last year brought sunshine, more runners, and an atmosphere we will remember for a long time. More stories, more personal victories, and more people discovering that they were capable of more than they thought. That’s why we keep doing it.

Now we go again. See you on the start line.

Before tunnels and fast roads took over, this was the way across the Alps.⁠

We shot this year’s bike collection on the Tremola – the old Gotthard Pass road on the southern side of the Swiss Alps. Eleven kilometers of cobblestones, tight hairpins, steep gradients, and the kind of mountain setting that makes every turn feel loaded with history. Built in the early 1800s and still meticulously maintained, it remains one of the most iconic roads in Switzerland.⁠

It is slower here. Rougher. More demanding. But that is exactly the point.⁠

For cyclists, the Tremola is more than a climb. It is a meeting point between effort, landscape, and the long memory of the mountains. A road that asks something from you, and gives something back.⁠

That felt like the right place for the 2026 bike collection.
