Switzerland celebrates its national holiday on 1st of August, a day that brings together people across the country in celebration of Swiss heritage and traditions. Ebneter & Biel wishes you a beautiful celebration of Swiss National Day!🇨🇭

For us, the tradition of hand-embroidery craftsmanship in Switzerland is deeply connected to our own history. In 1911, Ebneter & Biel opened its very first shop in the legendary Badrutt’s Palace Hotel in St. Moritz. In 1953, the St. Moritz shop moved to the Post Hotel, a hotel that no longer exists today. The photograph offers a rare glimpse into historic chapter of the town’s history of that times: the entrance to the shop in Post Hotel can be seen on the right. Some of the textile works of art created in the last century can still be admired at the Ebneter & Biel shop today: a beautiful reminder of Switzerland’s embroidery heritage.

Für uns ist die Tradition der Schweizer Stickereikunst eng mit unserer eigenen Geschichte verbunden. Im Jahr 1911 eröffnete Ebneter & Biel sein allererstes Geschäft im legendären Badrutt’s Palace Hotel in St. Moritz. 1953 zog das St. Moritzer Geschäft in das Post Hotel, ein Hotel, das heute nicht mehr existiert. Die Fotografie bietet einen seltenen Einblick in ein historisches Kapitel der Geschichte des Ortes: Rechts ist der Eingang zum Ebneter & Biel Geschäft im Post Hotel zu sehen. Einige der im vergangenen Jahrhundert entstandenen textilen Kunstwerke können noch heute im Ebneter & Biel Geschäft bewundert werden, eine wunderschöne Erinnerung an das Schweizer Stickerei-Erbe und die Handwerkskunst, die bis heute fortlebt.
