Features of Polyester Yarn (DTY)
.Good elasticity and recovery. As a polyester low-stretch yarn (crimp contraction ≤25%), it recovers quickly after moderate stretching. Fabrics are less prone to permanent deformation
.Soft and bulky hand feel. Mimics the texture of wool, cotton, or linen. The texturing process eliminates the waxy luster of regular polyester, giving a more natural appearance
.High strength and durability. Excellent breaking strength (100% retention when wet), good abrasion resistance, and strong wrinkle resistance. Fabrics are crisp, dimensionally stable, and quick-drying.
.Improved dyeing properties. Dye uptake rate is 20-35% higher than regular polyester filament, with color fastness reaching grade 4-5. Solution-dyeing enables eco-friendly coloring.
.Good processability. 30-40% lower friction coefficient than raw filament, low hairiness, high weaving efficiency. Interlaced DTY eliminates the need for sizing.
.Limitations. Poor moisture absorption (moisture regain ~0.4%), moderate breathability, comfort inferior to natural fibers. Slightly lower elasticity limit compared to spandex.
.Suiting fabrics, jackets, trousers, home textiles (curtains, upholstery), sportswear, underwear and socks. Ideal for garments requiring crisp appearance with comfortable stretch.
