🎩💨 Before Naomi Goodsir made perfume, she made hats. Couture ones, for fashion weeks and opera houses, even Kanye’s Paris show. In 2012 she switched to scent, but kept the same idea: pick one material, build the whole thing around it.
Bois d’Ascèse starts with smoke. She built it around the memory of a wooden church catching fire in the hills back home in Australia, then let to***co, whisky, and cade wood settle in around that one note of burning wood.
Iris Cendré starts with iris itself, ash dusted and powdery, sitting at the center while bergamot and mandarin brighten the top and incense and violet settle in underneath.
Cuir Velours starts with leather, soft as a gentleman’s glove, then rum and to***co sweeten it and immortelle flower adds a warm, honeyed edge underneath.
All three niche perfumes are in store now in Limassol. Smoke, iris, or leather: which one’s actually you?
