The history begins when Olympia Vassiliou left Athens in the late sixties to settle in the island. She brought with her an urge of family passion for the arts through the fusion of a unique savoir faire and a sense of style that led her to create the first Wedding Bells boutique of
Cyprus some 40 years ago. From the outset, the shop in the prestigious Makarios Avenue of Nicosia bore her personal touch and class, offering to the clientele nothing less than the best: wedding and christening garments and accessories of an insurmountable quality of materials and craftsmanship. Haute couture is chosen as a sine qua non condition for all of their creations and since very early Wedding Bells becomes renowned and appreciated within an elite clientele exceeding the limits of the island. With their return from Italy, daugthers Betty and Tonia (studies in liberal arts, fashion design, haute couture, and architecture) join forces with the family business, with the aim to reinforce a tradition of sophistication and good taste in the work. Hence, they inaugurate the second and biggest boutique in 2002, in the most elegant part of Makarios Avenue with the high-end shops, which becomes the headquarters of the brand and the laboratory of its creations. Wedding Bells becomes Ellitony-Wedding Bells and from the new shop they keep on with the same passion and dedication to every single bride-to-be, who as a unique and respectable client is invited to benefit from the expert, personalized advice for that special day . Their creations have since traveled to places as far as Greece, Italy, the UK, and USA, from a numerous respective events.
