Christina Louca was born in Cyprus to refugee parents, her father a house painter, her mother a seamstress. From a young age a fashionista and an an emerging designer could be seen, as she played with leftover pieces from her mother’s clients to create unique clothing that others scoffed at. Christina knew style and that you could create fashion that was both eccentric and yet wearable, if you pla
yed with fabric, layers, colors, used feathers, zippers on fabric., inspired by the 1920’s through the 1960’s which are defined by class and style. She prides herself on her use of material that others would never think of using, such as telephone cables, car tires, table covers and wires, zippers, different feathers, and layering of material in particular ways. Though discouraged from dreaming big, Christina’s dream would not die and then the chance came to work with fashion designers Sophia Alexander and Sophia Nicolaou, gaining experience in PR as well. Her great moment of joy was at her debut show exhibiting her own artistic, yet wearable pieces at her fundraising/ fashion show in 2011 in the West End of London. Christina’s lifetime and primary goal is through her fundraising shows, collections and sales to raise awareness for the environment and endangered species. She has even traveled to India in 2017 to find organic cotton to use in her collections. Her collection has been featured in Parikiaki, Style and The City Blog, Born Free Foundation’s website, Amor Magazine online and showbiz online website.
