It saddens us to see another piece of Czech shoemaking tradition disappear from the map. 👞💔

The news that Bata is ending production in Dolni Nemci hit us hard. To all of us, Bata has been—and always will be—a symbol of innovation, honest shoemaking craftsmanship, and the courage to change the world of footwear.

As a Czech brand committed to giving people freedom of movement and a healthier stride, we know just how challenging and dynamic the footwear industry can be. Especially when you’re trying to go against the grain and revolutionize the way people think about shoes. That makes us appreciate even more everything Bata has done for Czech shoemaking and the incredible know-how it has built here over the years.

Thank you to everyone in Dolni Nemci for decades of outstanding work and inspiration. And above all, our thoughts are with all the employees going through this difficult time. 🇨🇿

Boss, we’ve got no photos for the post. 😄 Well, we wanted to show you what we were up to in Prague with at the Do práce spolu a jinak 👟🌱 But we had barely arrived and hadn’t even finished setting up our booth when dozens of people interested in our barefoot footwear showed up. So, photos? Zero. 😃 Luckily, ČSOB HQ came to the rescue and sent us a few shots. Thanks! 🙌

That’s the second time in a row you’ve kept us seriously busy in Prague, so we’ll have to figure out how to hit the road and come see you again. And next time, maybe in a few other corners of the country too. ❤️

And now for the official part 😛

As part of its long-term sustainability strategy, ČSOB focuses on reducing its carbon footprint, and we were happy to do our part by showcasing a more sustainable way to commute.

Walking naturally, maybe combined with public transportation, is one of the simplest ways to get around with minimal impact. And we believe that moving comfortably in barefoot footwear might just convince a few bankers to add some extra steps to their day. 😉
