Let's get serious and talk about wool (i hope no one has ever said that). And not just any random yarn but high quality - best of the best - certificated Woolmark wool. (check all the pictures because your girl collects only the best pieces and a lot of Woolmark coats and jackets).

YOU PROMISED US WOOL!!!

Geez, calm down; I remember I promised you info about wool, and I'm a person of my word. So let's start our fascinating and magnificent journey to the world of expansive (and not so expensive) fabrics.

PART 1: The queen of wool - Merino wool.

When you find Merino wool, you know that immediately (first of all, because the manufacturer would never miss a chance to brag, and second - because it’s much softer than ordinary wool. Do you remember the horrible sweaters you had to wear in kindergarten? They were thick, stiff, and itchy, and you hated it, but mom told you that baby, it's cold outside, and you MUST wear a wool sweater and all wool sweaters are itchy.

She was lying. Merino wool is nice, soft, and warm, but - expensive. It comes from Merino sheep and has an amazing feature to regulate human body temperature ( that's why it calls Smart yarn). It's very elastic, smooth, and shiny, and does not form pellets.

There are three options of merino yarn:
"fine" - thin and expensive
"medium" - medium in thickness
"strong" - the thickest ( and the cheapest)

Merino wool is also hypoallergenic and resistant to dirt (the porous structure is able to reject foreign substances).

As a shop owner, I feel the best when I see my beautiful muses wearing my clothes. I remember when tried it on during our wardrobe vintage capsule consultation, I immediately realized that that's her dress. And I feel it every time I find something spectacular, even if it's weird at first or something my client would never choose for herself. I know when the particular piece finds its owner, and I also know that this piece will be deeply loved and appreciated.

BTW, remember my word - maxi 70s dresses are the new hot thing. Everyone will wear it next spring, so be ahead and purchase one now to wear with high-knee boots and Dr.Martines.

Do you remember this jacket(2nd pic)? Yes, this one with the HUGE unflattering shoulders? So, it wasn't very popular among my customers (shocking). Still, I wasn't ready to give up on it because it's linen, the fabric is insane, the quality is incredible, and I'd die for this color ( i mean, this milky beige, are you kidding me?), so I tailored it.

Not myself, of course; I gave it to the person who can actually sew, and now we have an incredible piece I am very proud of and incredibly honored to show you.

The American dream.

I used this picture from my long-time NY travel to talk about the new Bottega Veneta photoshoot with Kim Kardashian (if you see no logic here, that's because I'm incredibly alogical). It's essential because soon you'll see that jeans+white top combination everywhere, and it doesn't matter that fall is here; we live in the world where Los Angeles dictates new lows of fashion.

I don't like Kardashians, but I also don't hate them. Yes, they are white, rich, incredibly privileged people who ignore the real world's problems, but they represent a perfect example of The American dream. You can become the most influential person without talents only if you get your fking ass up and work.

We know that's not true, we know that hard work rarely pays off without a significant amount of luck and privilege, but we desperately want to believe.

Kim K doesn't live her American dream - she IS an American dream; she's a perfect representation of this country. Not educated? Who cares! It's not England, for God's sake; we are not here to spread our pompous speeches. Using very primitive American English, overwhelmed with words "awesome," "generally," and "really"? So, she's an ordinary girl, just like you. But a billionaire. She is an average American woman - not skinny, has four kids, a big family, religious, charming, devoted - but insanely rich.

America loves Kim and America deserves Kim to be its primal ambassador. So next time you think: "Why are those Kardashians so famous and rich?" think of them as representing a country they love so much. They are rich because we allow them to be rich and famous because we support every breath they take.

Ok, you voted for a little fashion confession (sounds like a rubric name, isn't it?), and I'm here to reveal a big secret: clothing in the e-shops or magazines will never look as good on you as it looks on models. And it's not because you're not a size zero, but because companies use tricks.

One of the oldest and most commonly used - because it's cheap and easy to do - is to put clips all over the model's body to make an idem look almost tailored.

And it makes sense. All body types are different, and the same dress rarely will look perfectly fitted on ten other girls.

Sometimes I do that for photoshoots because it just polishes the look - makes it more magazine-like. But I'm always strictly honest about measures - you can't lie about the length of the sleeve or hips size; your customer would know and leave disappointed and betrayed.

What can you do in this case? Always ask for measures and measure yourself before clicking the "pay." I know it isn't enjoyable, but it will save you time, money, and self-esteem in the future. Sometimes it's not possible to perform with massive platforms, but it's always an option with small shops (like mine). Never trust the picture, be aware of corporate tricks, and support little businesses.

I'm deeply сonvinced that every woman should have this «where would I wear» dress. You know, the one that is a bit too much, too sparkly, too colorful, too sexy. You may wear it once a year but always keep in mind that this specific dress makes you feel like a queen, and try it on sometimes in the moment of sadness and low self-esteem.

Maybe that dress is your «too much» dress - maybe not, but do not hesitate to add something special to your everyday wardrobe; it pays off in time.

I wanted to create this "Greek goddess"( not because I'm a goddess, but because it was shot in Greece) capsule as a perfect and classy summer wardrobe, but now it's seasonally irrelevant; still, it would be a shame not to share those pictures. And who knows, maybe one of Grandpa's Girl subscribers goes on vacation soon and needs an open-back dress and bright cotton shirt?
