Winter Solstice - the darkest day of the year. Although winter has only just begun, the darkness peaks today, and then the amount of light will increase again. Every day.
What a gift, this wheel of the year with its seasons and changes.
On this winter solstice, I share a photo from midsummer - and long for the feeling of sun on my face - I hope you will take a moment with a memory from midsummer that will warm body and soul in the deepest darkness of winter.
On this winter solstice, I also embrace the darkness and cold on my cheeks. I have surrendered to the winter and embraced solitude and rest. Slow down and breathe out the year. Hibernating like the plants and animals.
Winter is a time of rest. Let us give ourselves permission to linger a bit, be softer and gentler with ourselves.
