Berlin flea market, 2010. Our founders Gitta and Peter unearth an original worker’s Henley from 1911, bearing the label Merz b. Schwanen.

This silhouette is the very marrow of our brand. Here, a new and refined cropped cut - open sleeve hems, shorter button placket.

We are always happy to return to the root of our roots, and bring you back something fresh.

Present-day technology may impress with its speed and automation, but for us, the beauty lies in big, slow and mechanical.

The 2M16LS Cropped Henley is crafted on an original 1960s Mid-Century jersey machine, where vertical needles called Zungenadeln move independently, producing 80 lines of fabric per rotation (our trusted loopwheel machines produce four).

The result here is a new cropped Henley, the 2M16LS. Finished with tonal corozo buttons, triangle inserts under the arms, and baseball stitching on the hem and sleeves.

A closer look at the JKT08TW. Much like the Scots who first wove it, this 100% lambswool tweed is hardy, weatherproof and perfectly unfussy.

Tweed has been woven in Scotland for centuries. Hardy, weatherproof, made for the outdoors and the whims of the weather.

We’ve taken that history and given it a new shape: the JKT08TW, a cropped Worker’s Jacket in 100% lambswool tweed.

Layer over a chunky knit or an Oxford shirt - versatility befitting of Scottish tradition.
