A little behind the scenes from the course What If… From Wax to Silver ✨

One of my favourite parts of teaching this course is watching a simple piece of wax slowly transform into a real silver jewel. From carving and shaping the wax to casting, finishing and finally seeing the finished piece come to life.

I’m taking a little break from courses for the next two weeks, but What If… From Wax to Silver will be back from 22 September! 🩶

Balls, balls, and more balls. ✨
This silver ring is all about repetition, rhythm, and texture. Small silver spheres are carefully arranged to create a soft, sculptural form that feels playful yet beautifully refined.
A simple idea — just balls, balls, balls — turned into a very special piece of jewellery.

There’s something special about small stones. ✨

This creamy gold ring, set with delicate peridots, was created as the result of one of the jewellery courses at What If Studio.

The customer was inspired by Francesca Urciuoli’s Knots collection (.u.jewellery), so she explored different techniques to achieve a similar organic aesthetic. After experimenting with several shapes and variations, she found the one she loved most.

The small stones are part of what makes the ring so special. Rather than having one large stone take all the attention, the eye moves between the peridots and the organic shape of the ring — allowing the gold, the form and the stones to share the spotlight.

A beautiful example of how a collection can become the starting point for something completely personal. 💚

WHAT IF… OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS ✨
What If Studio Gallery is looking for one or more artists to join our space for the next few months, including the Christmas season.

Are you an artist looking for a place to show and sell your work in Berlin?
You don’t necessarily have to be a jeweller. We’re looking for that “What If…” element: something unique, distinctive and beautifully made, with a strong aesthetic that can naturally live alongside contemporary jewellery or other wearable objects.
We’re especially interested in well crafted, tangible pieces or objects with their own character, something you wouldn’t typically find in a shopping mall, but that feels at home in Prenzlauer Berg and could make a beautiful and special Christmas gift.
Your work should have a natural connection to the diverse Prenzlauer Berg community, from young families and children to artists, creatives and design conscious locals.
Your work could be displayed in a showcase, on a pedestal, or on the walls of the gallery.

We’re open to different forms of art and creative practices that bring something fresh to the space.
Being part of What If means having your work exhibited in the gallery with no commission on sales, contributing to the space by helping keep the store open for a few hours over the coming months, and becoming part of the life of the gallery.
A monthly contribution applies, depending on the amount of space needed to showcase your work.

A beautiful addition to the Knotted Necklace ✨

For a recent commission, a luminous pink tourmaline was added to the necklace, bringing a delicate touch of colour to the sculptural knotted form.

One of the things I love about this design is that it can be worn in different ways. The necklace can be adjusted to different lengths and closed at any of the knots, whether you want a little of the chain to fall freely at the back, or prefer to fasten it at the very last knot for a longer, more continuous line.

A piece that changes with the way you choose to wear it. 💗
