ABRISS 11 - embroidery workshop
Last Sunday we spent the afternoon at the ABRISS BERLIN embroidery workshop, together with and , right at the miniramp on Tempelhofer Feld. The idea was simple: fix our worn-out skate pants with a needle and thread instead of throwing them away.

It ended up being one of those days that mixes two things you wouldn’t normally put together… skating and embroidery and somehow it just worked. We sit down, thread a needle, patch up a hole or reinforce a seam and go skating.

Really enjoyed both sides of it, and it felt good to give our pants a second life instead of a new pair.

Would love to do more of this kind of thing
🫶🙌

A study in simplicity: one rectangle of robust tartan fabric, one zip pocket, several beltloops, a decorative carabiner. Wrap it high or low, style it over pants, or let it fall free - a skirt that shifts with you.
When the moment calls, it doubles as a picnic blanket for sunbathing. Or better as a tarp to provide some shade? Ah, and then, biking home in a long skirt? - no problem, just fold it up and clip it in.

A playful twist on the most basic shape, made versatile.

Made to order. Customization or different fabrics possible. Send us a DM or order online via link in bio.

OUTFIT OF THE WEEK (cycling edition)
02_26 A GOOD OUTFIT I ENJOYED WEARING.

Norway gives you many different weather conditions in one day, sometimes within minutes. You better be prepared for many different scenarios.

For me it was most comfortable to have a few layers which I change during the day… and usually it starts cold… so let’s start with all layers stacked on top of each other... here is the list of products
- Rapha bib shorts (bought)
- I treated myself for the trip with a merino baselayer with half zip and a custom spray paint design. Merino is just incredible with its natural compelling qualities like great warmth regulation, no smell and very comfortable to wear
- EDO basic t-shirt with custom print design for the travels and cut-off sleeves for nice, easy layering.
- Lost and Found hoodie from Magerøya island with hand-embroidery details which I made during the trip for extra comfort in the evenings or to feel cozy
- EDO raglan jacket from Japanese upcycled waterproof fabric with taped seams and 2-way zipper. Super happy with the properties and usability of the fabric. Never got wet inside and the 2-way zip allows me to open the jacket from below for air ventilation and at the same time keeping my neck warm and protected.
- Second hand cap with DIY custom design which was always a fun addition
- Single jersey wool buff. My everyday, all-time favourite accessory on a bike trip
- Re:turn compression skate socks with tight, snug fit
- KEEN Newport H2 sandals
- Oakley glasses. I liked the colour and the look but it turned out that I wasn’t wearing them that much because I actually do like to have the sunlight in my eyes and also to see the natural colours…so I was wearing it mainly in combination with the cap on my head 😅

Did you know how much precious material gets usually lost? Discarded, burnt? Every single production run?

Cutting Room: Approximately 10% to 15% pure offcut waste on the cutting table + 10% extra fabric metres on roll as back up (that‘s what we use!)

Post-processing & Production: An additional 5% to 11% loss due to defective parts, cutting errors, panel inspection, and sewing rejects.
______________
Entire Supply Chain: Studies show that across the entire process chain (fiber processing, yarn spinning, fabric production), nearly half of the original raw material can be lost before a T-shirt reaches the store.

The simple process of upcycling.

This jacket used to be a sleeping bag.
We walked along a southern coastline and didn‘t say a word.

Open for custom orders :)
