Fashion label designed and crafted in NYC by Jenny Lai and loved by curious, creative humans.

Designer Jenny Lai, who grew up playing music, dancing, and acting, equates the adrenaline of performing on stage with the adrenaline of getting dressed. Inspired by the physical processes of putting on and off clothing, the act of getting dressed in NOT becomes an experience within itself. NOT produces ready-to-wear collections in limited edition, custom performance-wear for musicians and dancers, and collaboration projects as a mobile studio around the world.

Details of our textile sculpture installed at TONHAIN in Berlin during their 2025-2026 concert season "Resist - the Sound of Defiance".

Over 8000 hand-stamped dots, over a set of symbolic garments, that compose this archival image of a suffragette being walked away by two men of enforcement at a protest in London.

Spectacle is an interdisciplinary performance inspired by early feminist history, produced in collaboration with Tonhain Kollektiv in Berlin.

Behind the design: The WSPU suffragettes knew the importance of visual branding as a visible and public show of support, and they made it easy to participate. A few scraps of fabric or ribbons, in their colors of purple, white, and green, affixed to their clothes could signal support for women's right to vote.
