Sarah Meyers und Laura Fügmann haben sich während ihrem Textil- und Flächende- signstudium an der Kunsthochschule Berlin - Weissensee kennengelernt. 2012 gründen die zwei jungen Designerinnen ihr Studio MEYERS & FÜGMANN in Berlin.

As we increasingly predefine spaces and colors on pristine screens, we are fascinated by the discrepancy between digital renderings and analog reality: How do the demands on designing color, light, and materiality change when they encounter the interplay of physical light and textile haptics in real space?

Together with color architect and moderated by design journalist we will discuss pressing questions for architecture and design practice within the framework of our current installation “Analog Gradients”

Laura Fügmann and Sarah Meyers (Meyers + Fügmann) will share insights into their experimental material research, the development of their latest curtain collection for Kvadrat, and the transformation of old office lamps into luminescent, analog color gradients.

Julia Hausmann, architect and Vice President of the German Color Center (Deutsches Farbenzentrum), will speak about the atmospheric and identity-defining dimension of color in space and architecture.

Jasmin Jouhar, journalist, will moderate the discussion, weaving together perspectives on material, space, and design theory.
