Incorporeal Species.
As the Earth undergoes its sixth mass extinction, we are losing more than plants and animals. We are also losing ways of feeling, imagining and being human.
Incorporeal Species explores this double disappearance through raw physicality, transformation and unfamiliar bodies — asking what remains wild, singular and alive beneath the pressures of conformity.
Created by , a performative artist, Butoh dancer and choreographer, the piece draws on the transformative language of Butoh — an avant-garde Japanese dance-theatre form created in the late 1950s that features white-painted bodies, extremely slow or distorted movements, and a deep exploration of raw human emotion and the subconscious mind.

At Trippen, we have always been interested in questioning what is considered standard — looking beyond established forms, exploring alternative possibilities and questioning what we have come to accept as given.
Different practices, different languages, but a shared instinct: to resist conformity and make space for something unexpected to emerge.
This was Incorporeal Species at its premiere in Berlin. Next appointment will be on September 5th.
