Established in 1994, Carhartt Work In Progress (WIP) develops its own collections based on original Carhartt workwear. The brand creates authentic adaptations of the robust American originals, while also engaging with the subcultures that have embraced it. This, in turn, has seen Carhartt WIP place itself in a new context, while bringing forth its own classics. Carhartt WIP opened its first store

in London in 1997 and began to engage with cultural spheres outside its own industry, launching its own skate team and music department, as well as supporting an array of artists. Since 2010, Carhartt WIP has also worked with a number of like-minded collaborators, including A.P.C., Converse, Junya Watanabe, Nike, and Underground Resistance.

Carhartt WIP Radio – May 2026⁠

"No country, no flag – outernational without a cause." The tagline runs across the releases and radio shows of Berlin-based musician ML, distilling how he listens to and makes music: with boundless curiosity, unanchored to any one scene or genre. He moves through that open territory as a musician, producer, journalist, broadcaster and DJ.⁠

As a broadcaster, he co-founded Carhartt WIP Radio in 2008, steering the station from behind the mic and the programming desk. He also runs 150 Session, first on Radio Cómeme and now on NTS since 2009, drawing on experimental, electronic, minimal, dub, and beyond. As a musician, he has released on labels including , , and ._, exploring collage and concrète; sonic constructivism and kosmische. ⁠
