A few years ago, a pregnant customer asked me what she could wear to Oktoberfest. 🧵
She was worried she wouldn’t fit into any of my traditional Dirndls with her growing baby bump. She even asked if it would be offensive if she just wore a plaid skirt and a cute cottagecore top instead.
To all the mamas and mamas-to-be out there: please don’t stress over things like this! Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and beautiful at Oktoberfest. Absolutely nobody is going to feel offended just because you don’t wear a traditional Dirndl, or because you don’t want to spend money on a maternity outfit you might only wear once. If anyone actually minds, that is entirely their problem, not yours! ❤️

Okay, here’s the reveal! It’s pretty obvious, isn’t it? I always think of Liberia... no, just kidding! 😂 Of course, I always think of the USA 🇺🇸.

Did you know that Americans of German descent are actually the largest ancestry group in the USA? It’s true! There are about 40 to 50 million Americans with German roots, even ahead of the Irish and English. 🇩🇪🇺🇸

So it’s no wonder I associate this red, blue, and white Dirndl with the US and always imagine an American wearing one at Oktoberfest. It’s the perfect way to blend both cultures, isn’t it? ❤️

Many of you know that I usually sell complete Dirndl sets — including the Dirndl dress, blouse, and apron. 💛
I’ve noticed that many competitors on Etsy often sell only the Dirndl dress, and if you’re lucky, maybe the apron is included. Interestingly, the price is often similar to what I charge for an entire three-piece set. Perhaps that’s also part of the success behind Das Dirndl Fräulein.
At the same time, I understand that sometimes you might only need individual pieces. That’s why I’ve started offering separate items, like Dirndl aprons or individual blouses. For example, if you’re spending several days at Oktoberfest, having an extra blouse can definitely come in handy.

So now I’m curious:
What do you prefer?

The new stickers for Das Dirndl Fräulein have officially arrived, and I couldn’t be happier with how the new logo looks in print.

I’ve been thinking about new ways to bring more attention to my Etsy shops, and I came up with an idea I really like: QR codes that lead directly to my shops. They’ll be placed on the inside of the packaging so they immediately catch the eye when customers open their order.
I’m also planning to include a small card that links to the Dirndl Fräulein Instagram account — and I already have a beautiful design idea for it!
