This horse chestnut bowl has cracked and crikled way beyond repair - but it will still make a great bowl for fruit or bread. I‘m absolutely in love with all the colours this wood is giving me!

Can you tell how much I like shavings in my face? 🤓 This chestnut (🇩🇪Esskastanie) bowl sprayed me quiet alot. Some woods tend to throw sharp, small shavings, while others give long, noodlelike shavings zhat are quiet nice to the touch. Nevertheless, love the way this thing is turnings out 😍

Another one done - its massive! for size comparison, still not quiet showing its true size. It measures in at 50 by 17 centimeters.

This piece is my very first try on smoking wood and it turned out great! The Locust went from a greenish color to a beautiful, dark brown, almost black, while still having the grain and texture visible. The sapwood, free of natural acids, did not react with the ammonia and stayed almost as it was, making it a little eyecatcher.

So, it has been really quiet around here for a long time. For those of you wondering: I‘ve had a bit of an accident and will be in a wheelchair from now on. Nevertheless though I do not anticipate to stop woodturning but rather keep going and try to make most of it. As you can see, there will be a couple of adjustments necessary, but nothing s little time and work can’t fix. Stay tuned, I‘m looking forward to be back in the shop!

Still rocking the trails in Greece! After some really heavy rain we expected loads of mud and puddles, but got a beautyfull surprise - flowtrail with loamy ground and amazing landscape around :)
