𝐃𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐞𝐬 🌼 Ji Wu Ji Wu 吴吉 presents works from his painting series Mitsein, which addresses human existence as a fundamentally relational condition. For him, the point of departure is not the isolated subject, but an understanding of the self as something continuously shaped through encounters with other people, cultures, memories, spaces, and the world. Shaped by his experience between China and Europe, Ji Wu explores identity not as a fixed state, but as something open and mutable. In his paintings, architectural fragments, sculptures, human figures, and angel motifs meet within layered pictorial spaces. Real experiences, memories, dream states, and imagination overlap without following a linear narrative. The angels do not appear as religious symbols, but rather as witnesses, companions, or protectors.

Ji Wu, born in China, has been studying Fine Arts in Jorinde Voigt’s class Klasse Prof. Jorinde Voigt at the University of Fine Arts Hamburg hfbk hamburg since 2023. From 2016 to 2021, he worked as a stage painter at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in China. Prior to that, he completed a BA in Stage Art at the Central Academy of Drama in China from 2012 to 2016.

𝐃𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐞𝐬 🌼 – Mira Friedrich

With the series Pollen, which she has been developing since 2019, Friedrich turns to microscopic forms that become newly present through enlargement and translation into ceramics. These objects point to the complexity of plant reproduction and to those often overlooked structures on which adaptation, fruit formation, and food chains depend. In both bodies of work, precision of observation meets a sensual formal language that evokes familiarity and estrangement at once.

Mira Friedrich (*1989, Hamm) lives and works in Dresden. Since 2025, she has been a Meisterschülerin under Nevin Aladağ at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts. Before that, she studied Fine Arts there from 2018 to 2025. From 2015 to 2018, she completed vocational training as a wood sculptor in Oberammergau, preceded by training as a joiner in Rinkerode from 2012 to 2015.

𝐃𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐞𝐬 🌼 – Kay Lotte Pommer moves between various media, including wall-based works, sculptures, and spatial installations that engage in an open dialogue with one another, with architecture, and with viewers.
The artist investigates how public architectural spaces render inner states and social structures visible. Pommer conceives of urban space as a kind of alternative archive, a constellation of material and immaterial inscriptions in which individual paths, encounters, and stories overlap. From this, fragmentary narratives emerge in which reality and fiction continuously intertwine.
Pommer presents the city as a system of signs, which the artist destabilizes through fragmentation, repetition, and displacement. These interventions open perception to ambiguity and enable new readings. Questions of personal and collective memory move to the forefront, forming the basis for an associative visual language.
The artist’s work formally oscillates between the familiar and the abstract. Traces function as central visual elements, pointing to actions, absence, and remembered situations without fixing them into a single meaning. In this way, open constellations arise in which meaning is not predetermined but takes shape in the process of viewing.
Pommer’s works do not depict existing places but rather possibilities of place. Details shift, disappear, or emerge in isolation.
The material starting point of the artist’s practice is steel, which takes on different forms and becomes both a carrier of concepts and a pictorial surface, forming a basis for painterly gestures.

𝐃𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐞𝐬 – 🌼 Mira Friedrich’s sculptural practice is devoted to processes of growth, transformation, and reproduction. Her works begin with close observation of nature and translate organic structures into autonomous sculptural forms. The exhibition includes works that exemplify this approach with particular clarity. The Arthropod Eukaryote is both sculpture and display surface. From a distance, the work appears like a strange creature; from nearby, its opened body reveals an interior reminiscent of the structure of a cell. In this way, Friedrich places a basic component of living matter at the center and asks what connects different forms of life. Situated between scientific tableau, schematic drawing, and sculptural imagination, the work deliberately remains at the threshold of what can be grasped. It does not explain, but opens a space for reflection on life, sensation, and consciousness.

𝐊𝐚𝐢 𝐋𝗼𝐭𝐭𝐞 𝐏𝗼𝗺𝗺𝐞𝐫 works with wall objects, sculptures, and installations that respond to architecture, space, and viewers. The point of departure of her practice is urban space as a structure of traces, movements, and inscriptions. Public space does not appear in her work as a neutral order, but as a site where social structures are layered together with personal experiences and memories. This becomes especially clear in her ongoing series Wege, in which she treats footpaths and path segments as abstracted fragments. Signs of use and irregularities, first documented photographically, are transferred onto metal surfaces, making visible trajectories that may suggest routines, departures, spontaneity, or planning. The titles give these works an additional direction without fixing their meaning. Steel and zinc serve both as conceptual carriers and as image surfaces. Through processes of treatment and etching, the surfaces acquire a painterly character. In this way, Pommer combines precise material knowledge with an artistic investigation of space, memory, and presence.

DAISIES 🌼 | Kay Lotte Pommer / Ji Wu / Mira Friedrich

Daisies marks the launch of a new exhibition format by the SpinnereiGalleries. The 13 participating galleries turn their attention to younger artistic positions while also addressing an audience encountering the Spinnerei for the first time or in a different context. Daisies is conceived as an open format that places direct encounters with art at its center. It is based on the simple yet fundamental idea that access to art often emerges through perception, conversation, and personal curiosity. In this sense, the project explicitly addresses different publics and creates an occasion to experience the Spinnerei as a site of discovery, exchange, and encounter.
For the exhibition at REITER, three positions are brought together that engage in different ways with space, perception, and relation. Through painting, sculpture, and installation, they examine how experiences, observations, and memories can be translated into images and forms. Despite their distinct approaches, they share an interest in open fields of meaning, in transitions between visibility and imagination, and in the question of how relations to the world can be articulated through artistic means.
