I’ve always had a soft spot for a good lightweight flannel shirt—and this new one from Proper Cloth instantly found its place in my wardrobe.

I configured it myself, choosing this warm orange, blue and cream pattern because it felt a little different from the flannels I already own. It still fits my style, but adds a bit more color without feeling loud.

The made-to-measure fit turned out exactly as I had hoped, and the fabric feels incredibly soft while still having enough substance to make it perfect for the cooler months ahead.

I already know this won’t be the last time you’ll see this shirt. I have a feeling it’s going to become one of those pieces I keep reaching for year after year.

Greetings from Nuremberg.

I’m here for work today, which means a full schedule of meetings, workshops and long discussions. Days like these have definitely changed the way I get dressed.

I still want to enjoy putting an outfit together, but comfort has become just as important as style. Lightweight fabrics, a relaxed fit and pieces that move with me make all the difference when I’m spending hours sitting, talking and walking between appointments.

The vest adds a little extra character, and if the afternoon gets too warm, it simply comes off. The outfit still works just as well with the Aloha shirt on its own.

I’ve noticed that the older I get, the more I appreciate clothes that fit my day—not just my wardrobe.

How much does your daily routine influence what you wear?

A little throwback to colder days—just to cool everyone down who’s currently melting under the heat dome.

Funny how, after weeks of wishing for summer, a few days of 35°C can suddenly make you miss winter just a little.

These photos were taken by my friend Sebastian Möser - Photography , who captured them on analog film this time. I still love the look and character that film photography brings.

Greetings from my 30°C apartment. Stay cool and enjoy your Sunday! ☀️❄️

Keep it simple.

The older I get, the more I appreciate the KISS principle when getting dressed in summer: Keep It Simple, Stupid.

For me, a good pair of pants, a plain white T-shirt, a lightweight vest and a few well-chosen accessories are often all I need. No complicated layering, no loud statement pieces—just clothes that work together naturally.

What I especially like about this outfit is its flexibility. If it gets too hot during the day, the vest is the first thing to come off. And honestly, the outfit still works perfectly with just the white T-shirt.

Maybe that’s why I keep coming back to simple combinations like this. They’re comfortable, practical and easy to wear in everyday life—which, as a dad, is something I value more and more.

Sometimes less really is more.

I have a weakness for pieces that tell a story.

That’s probably why I’ve always liked Western belts. Even in a fairly simple outfit, they add a bit of character without demanding all the attention.

This one from Proper Cloth has been getting quite a bit of wear lately. The combination of quality leather, detailed hardware and that subtle Western influence works surprisingly well with denim, workwear and heritage-inspired outfits.

The funny thing is that most people won’t consciously notice a belt. But they’ll notice when an outfit feels complete.

And sometimes it’s exactly these small details that make the difference.

What’s your take on Western belts: timeless classic or a bit too much?

Happy Wednesday. For today, just a few thoughts regarding our „style“:

When it comes to heritage and denim style, it’s not about following rigid rules someone else set. All the inspiration we find—whether on Instagram, in magazines, or books—helps us shape our own style.📖🖥️🧐

For me, it’s about three things: I have to feel comfortable, it has to feel like me—not a costume—and it must be practical for everyday life. Especially as a dad, I need to move freely, and my clothes can’t get in the way when I’m with my kid. I mean, I’m not going to wear a white shirt when I know my little one is having spaghetti with tomato sauce! 🍝😬

That’s my principle when adding pieces—whether buying or receiving. 🧥👕👖🥸

How do you shape your style? I’d love to know! 🔎🤔

Most outfits start with the basics.

I’ve been wearing this heavyweight cotton T-shirt from flannelgo.official quite a bit lately, and it’s exactly the kind of piece I appreciate in a wardrobe. The fabric has a nice weight to it, feels great against the skin and works with pretty much everything I own.

As much as I love vintage finds and statement pieces, it’s often the simple basics that get the most wear. They’re the foundation of countless outfits and never really go out of style.

This one feels well made, durable and like the kind of T-shirt I’ll still enjoy wearing years from now.

A few months ago, I saw a waxed canvas jacket online and immediately thought: “I need one of those.”

Then I looked at my already crowded wardrobe and thought: “Do I really?”

Instead of buying another jacket, I dug through my closet and found an old canvas chore coat from the Primark × The Stronghold collaboration. Not an expensive piece by any means, but well made and a perfect candidate for a little experiment.

Getting the wax was easy. Borrowing a heat gun from a neighbor was even easier.

The process took some patience and a bit of trial and error, but in the end it was absolutely worth it. The jacket now has more character, a richer texture and feels much more like my jacket.

Just a little reminder that not every inspiration needs to end with a purchase. Sometimes the next great piece is already hanging in your wardrobe — it just needs a little creativity.
