A Michelin-starred chef looking for a tailor in Munich. .ostler asked on Instagram, I got in touch, and we met at her restaurant, Alois. Her idea: something made from classic kitchen towels. Jackets are my favourite thing to make, so I suggested a jacket.
The towels were too narrow for the back panel, so I pieced them together check by check – the pattern runs across every seam, right into the pocket.
That’s how most projects start with me: you bring an idea, we figure it out together, I take your measurements, and you end up with a piece that exists only once.
