What looks simple starts far from the factory floor. SAMURAI JEANS grows its own cotton in Sasayama (), harvests it by hand, and spins it into irregular yarn full of character.

Tubular-knitted in Wakayama into a truly substantial 16oz jersey with the texture of their Zero denim, it carries a weight you don’t expect from a tee.

Depending on the color, natural dyes derived from black soybeans or Tamba chestnut skins give each piece a tone that feels organic and slightly unpredictable.

In Kyoto, vintage Union Special machines bring it all together — flat seam by flat seam, using cotton thread throughout. A slower, more deliberate path in every detail.

Overkill? Maybe. Worth it? Definitely.

FREENOTE‘s Modern Western Shirt carries a familiar western language, but it feels softer in this ex*****on.

The 11oz selvedge denim from Yoshiwa Mills is pushed through an extended bleach process that removes sharpness rather than adding effect.

What remains is a shirt that reads easy from a distance, yet reveals more intention the closer you get.

Western details are still present, just no longer insisting on themselves — turquoise snap buttons add a quiet flash of contrast, while the Italian horn button with enamel fill sits in a slightly more serious register than the shirt lets on.
