From CHANEL's iconic pearls to the untamed beauty of Baroque and Dragon Scale Pearls
For generations, pearls represented perfection: perfectly round, perfectly matched, perfectly polished.
In 2026, fashion is telling a different story.
At CHANEL, pearls have once again taken centre stage — oversized, layered, cascading across the body and transformed into bold, sculptural statements.
The House's Fall–Winter 2025/26 collection revisited one of Gabrielle Chanel's most recognizable signatures, while Spring–Summer 2026 continues the story with freshwater pearls, mother-of-pearl and unexpected proportions.
And CHANEL is far from alone.
Across contemporary jewellery and couture, designers are rediscovering pearls not for their uniformity, but for their individuality.
Baroque silhouettes.

Irregular forms shaped by nature rather than by an ideal of symmetry.
From Louis Vuitton and Tiffany & Co. to Dior and TASAKI, the pearl is being reimagined.
Perhaps this is the most fascinating part of its renaissance:
Imperfection has become the new luxury.
No two naturally formed pearls are truly identical. Every curve, ridge, variation of colour and reflection tells the story of its own formation.
And beyond the familiar Baroque pearl exists an extraordinary world of lesser-known forms and artistic interpretations.
Among them are Dragon Scale Pearls — remarkable Edison freshwater pearls individually hand-engraved to create their distinctive scale-like surface.
The delicate carving interacts with the natural nacre and lustre of each pearl, capturing and reflecting light across the engraved surface and revealing a completely different personality in every pearl.
Rare. Unique. Unrepeatable.
And then there are Baroque Pearls — Nature's Sculptures.
Born without predetermined symmetry, their curves, folds, ridges and extraordinary silhouettes are created by nature itself.
No two are ever exactly alike.
They do not need to be perfectly round to be precious. Their beauty lies precisely in their individuality — organic, sculptural and impossible to reproduce.
Unique. Organic. Beautiful.

Each creation becomes a dialogue between what nature has created and what the human hand can imagine.
Because perhaps the pearl of the future isn't the one that looks exactly like every other pearl.
