PLANT IT!
"Palermo" is the name of a small red maple that the Canadian delegates planted in Toronto on Day of the Republic, on their return from the Palermo Seminary, to compensate for the environmental impact of their long flight.
"Piantala!" Is the campaign that the network of young Italians around the world will launch at the global climate strike event that will take place on the 20th September 2019, to follow the example of "Palermo".
In this manner, we want to demonstrate that the network does not only focus on issues that impact the whole world, but we rather want to act, by pledging to plant and to have trees planted (for example through associations such as www.treedom.net or https: //www.plant -for-the-planet.org/en/home)
"Piantala! » Is also a way of saying that it is time to stop thinking that our action does not count.
The Amazon fire and the health of our planet have no national borders. Our network, which includes recently emigrated Italians, young second, third and fourth generation Italians (many of them Brazilians), shows that these issues affect us all, in every corner of the world, and we want to use our network, born from the will of General Council of Italians Abroad, Committees for Italians Abroad and Regional Councils, to unite with other networks and take control of our future. And involve as many people around us with the strength of our example.
PIANTALA !
« Palermo » è il nome di un piccolo acero rosso che I delegati canadesi hanno piantato a Toronto di ritorno dal Seminario di Palermo, nel giorno della Festa della Repubblica, per compensare l’impatto ambientale del loro lungo volo.
“Piantala!” è la campagna che la rete dei giovani italiani nel mondo lancia in occasione dello sciopero globale per il clima del 20 settembre 2019, per seguire l’esempio di “Palermo”.
Vogliamo in questo modo riconoscere che la rete non è isolata dalle preoccupazioni che scuotono tutto il mondo, ma vuole anzi agire, impegnandosi a piantare e far piantare alberi (per esempio attraverso associazioni come www.treedom.net o https://www.plant-for-the-planet.org/en/home)
« Piantala! » è anche un modo per dire che è ora di smetterla di pensare che la nostra azione non conti.
L’incendio dell’Amazzonia e lo stato di salute del nostro pianeta non hanno confini nazionali. La nostra rete, che comprende italiani recentemente emigrati o giovani italiani di seconda, terza e quarta generazione (molti dei quali Brasiliani), dimostra che questi temi ci riguardano tutti, a tutte le latitudini, e vogliamo utilizzare questa nostra rete, nata dalla volontà del Consiglio Generale degli Italiani all’Estero, dei Comitati per gli italiani all’estero e delle Consulte Regionali, per unirci ad altre reti e prendere in mano il nostro futuro. Coinvolgendo quante più persone possibile, attorno a noi, con la forza del nostro esempio.
