Day 9: Workplace 👷‍♀️✂️📏✏️🧵🪡

Today is about showing the place where the magic happens! 🪄

As an embroiderer, I use several places to embroider, but mainly my armchair, with the beautiful 💛 cushion and a blanket for cold winter days.

For design, I use (for now) my husband’s office, with the computer and the cross-stitch pattern creation program. Do you see the cup with pens next to the screen? That was a gift from my niece , over 15 years ago! And I love it! 🌸🌸🌸

BTW: I have an office-related surprise very soon. Stay tuned! 🎉🎉🎉

Day 8: Detail or Variant. 🤔

It is not easy to say whether it’s detail or variant, because sometimes ideas flow and designs are embroidered without realizing that you used the most beautiful details and variety of stitches, fabrics, materials or products.

For example, pics show small details like the woven wheel stitch technique on a coaster that started with the Japanese Boro technique, and using different fabrics, while flower’s pic shows an Aida fabric (for cross stitch), with french knot, chain stitch, backstitch and of course, cross stitch techniques.

That’s what’s interesting about embroidery: small details with different techniques that make it varied and unique 🌸.

BTW: My Boro technique coaster is almost ready! 🎉🎉🎉

Day 6: What tools and materials do I use in Dulce Nela? 🪡🧵🧶✂️📍🎀

Pic shows the basic tools and materials for cross stitch embroidery, but other materials are also required such as:

🔸 Digital or physical patterns (and for that I need a computer and a printer)
🔸Notebook.
🔸Pen, pencil, and pencil colours to create the pre-designs.
🔸A variety of fabrics and zippers to make the handbags, plus bias, pins and sewing machine.
🔸Ornaments such as tassels, ribbons, and charms.

And of course, it’s essential to have a way to deliver the products. This includes other materials and tools such as: printing paper, a ruler 📏 , paper cutters ✂️, wrapping paper, and in my case, a special essence that I use to give my products a touch of aroma 🌸.

That’s why at Dulce Nela everything is a process, it’s not just the final product but everything that is needed to reach the result.

Day 5: Colours 💛💙❤️💚🧡🖤🤍🤎🩷💜🩶.

At Dulce Nela we work with all possible colours (Over 500! 😍). Our products are 100% personalized, which means that our customers can ask for any color they like.

Colors are not only applied to embroidery, we also have different fabrics that go on the back of our handbags, and these are also chosen by our customers.

We can say then that Dulce Nela is a carnival of colors! 🎉😍🤗.

Let’s talk style! 🧵

Second day of by 🩵

Today I’ll tell you about the styles I make at Dulce Nela, It’s basically cross stitch, and I’m currently challenging my styles by learning the Boro technique, it’s a WIP for now (Pic 1). But I have also created products with the following embroidery techniques:

🌟 Happy week, my Dulce followers!🌟

It’s March 🌸 and I’ve decided to be part of by 🩵

My name is Adriana (pic 2) and I am the hands of Dulce Nela Cross Stitch, a store of embroidered products mainly handbags, but also ornament hoops, towels, paintings and anything that can be embroidered in cross stitch but also in other techniques.
The idea that was born in Mexico when I lived in that country, then came to Colombia where I am originally from and finally, is now in Aalborg-Denmark, where I live.

The logo (pic 1) represents a typical embroidery hoop, with Aida fabric in the background, and a little paw from the inspiration for the name: CaNela, the Shih Tzu of my family in Colombia (pic 3).

Top product is the handbag in its three versions: purse, handbag and tech-case.

So stay tuned because you will learn more about this hobby that I am passionate about.

Finished Friday! ✨✨✨

And here’s the result! 🎉🎉🎉

Although I’m not an expert at French knotting, the hair didn’t turn out too bad! 😅😅😅

In this design I used long and short stitch, and corded detached buttonhole stitch for the sweaters, cross stitch for the pants and faces, french knot for my hair and satin for his hair 🪡🧵
