We had the chance to attend the Copenhagen Cycling Summit 2026 and later the finale of the men’s sprint.
A full day of cycling, city ideas, industry perspectives and a lot of good reminders of why the bicycle still matters so much.
One line that stayed with me was:
“Cycling is not a dream, it’s an amazing solution.” - Claudia Adriazola-Steil
Simple, but very true.
We often talk about cycling as something nice to have. But when you hear from people working with cities, infrastructure, transport, cargo bikes, job creation and everyday mobility, you’re reminded how practical it really is.
One point I especially liked was the focus on bicycle mechanics.
They are easy to overlook, but they keep so much of the cycling culture moving, quite literally. Without good mechanics, the bike doesn’t stay reliable. And if the bike isn’t reliable, people are less likely to choose it every day.
In many ways, they are some of the everyday heroes of cycling.
For me, days like this are a good reminder that NoRain is just one small part of a much bigger picture. A mission shared by many: making cycling work better for more people, in more cities, on more days of the year.
A great day in Copenhagen.
Happy biking!
