Yes, embroidery takes a long time to make, even on a machine.

The picture I'm using for this jacket was originally a painting my husband did. We already offer it as posters, postcards and on a t-shirt in so I thought it would be fun to see how it turns out as an embroidery.

I used 5-6 hours to turn the painting into embroidery - this is called digitizing.

This is where I put the most of my time in all my embroidered jackets.

This piece ended up being 241.000 stitches - after I did my best to cut it down this first time around.
