Inside out. For the lining of this thyme-dyed and scented jacket we used black rice and artichoke waste from a local restaurant in Alcoi. Instead of throwing them away we wanted to prolongue their life cycle by extracting a light grey color. This idea of using bi-products from the food industry was something that we explored over the past 9 months to create a more circular system in both our process and garments

Throughout the project we wanted to use the most sustainable materials and trims possible, so we opted for some natural undyed corozo buttons made by and wood buttons sourced in Barcelona. Corozo buttons are made from the seeds of the Tagua palm tree and have a smooth surface with irregular swirls that give it its charm. We performed dye tests with them and learned that they are great for natural dyeing and absorb color very well. A sustainable solution for the future - even small details like these make a big difference.

Sun printed linings using the same plants to dye this linen eucalyptus-dyed suit. A 3-day process that involves painting the fabric, air drying it, collecting leaves to be laid out in the sun and oxidising the fabric to create the final print. Here we used eucalyptus and lavender leaves toned with green tea to get a deeper shade of blue. Cotton turtleneck and trousers dyed and scented with eucalyptus.

Handsewn interiors. The idea was to merge innovative technologies with handmade processes. Several layers of canvas and cotton are basted to the forepart of the jacket to give it structure and shape in order to mould to the wearer’s body. The pocketing and linen fabric used here were micro encapsulated with eucalytpus essential oil, released when friction occurs. Co-creation project with for 📸

Full eucalytpus look 🌿

100% organic cotton turtleneck and 100% linen herringbone trousers dyed and scented with eucalytpus leaves, grown in Barcelona.
“Dali” espadrilles handmade in Barcelona.

Color and aroma applied with ECOFinish technology using 65% less water and 90% less energy than industry standards.

All pocketing inside the trousers were also microencapsualted with eucalytpus essential oil, so you get a refreshing aroma when you take your hands out of your pockets.

Due to the large amount of water eucalytpus trees need to survive, we maintain limits on the amount of leaves and products we make using this dye.
