Cedimatexsa Tejidos con especialidad en telas de colchón Tejidos Noguera, now called Cedimatexsa, was founded in 1843 in Igualada, north of Barcelona, Spain.

Cedimatexsa is a three generation family owned business known for the quality and diversity of its textiles. The company is no longer manufacturing textiles but is now offering its limited vintage stock to private clients as well as interior designers. The majority of the textiles, high quality ticking fabrics, are circa 1930s in rolls measuring 30 meters in length and widths of 80 to 160 cm. During the second half of the 19th century and until the 1940s, Cedimatexsa was well known for its superior craftsmanship. These years of production correspond with the industrial boom of this region which became one of the premier references in European and Latin American textiles. Cedimatexsa still has some of the original stock it manufactured between 1850 and 1960 with the original designs and patterns. At the time, this fabric was manufactured specifically to cover and protect wool mattresses. Today, it is sought after by interior designers for its quality and unique design. This fabric, sometimes known as ticking fabric, is often used to recreate the style of that era, for upholstering furniture and making linens with an elegant Mediterranean style. With the advances in weaving technology in the late 19th century and early 20th century, designers were able to create intricate patterns for the first time, something that the artisan were unable to do. The stock being made available exists in mainly two categories of patterns and in a multitude of colors: a Striped Pattern, a classical design with a variety of stripe widths and color combinations and the Damasc Pattern, a representational design with floral or scenic motifs, inspired by the modernist movement of that time. These textiles were produced using the highest quality cotton and several weaving techniques such as Jacquard and Sateen, giving them a particularity soft touch, a rich look and a wear resistant composition. All fabrics are either 100% cotton, which is unusual and exceptional for ticking fabric or cotton viscose combinations and have thread counts between 200 and 350 g/m2. Another important aspect that makes these textiles exceptional is their perfectly maintained condition. Just as good wine, these textiles have been carefully stored in a temperature, humidity and light-controlled environment. They have been carefully folded and wrapped and have been kept that way since their original production. Cedimatexsa is offering its exceptional limited-quantity stock to private clients as well as to interior designers who seek high quality vintage.
