Some people come into your story and just... stay. With , we’ve shared a lot of firsts throughout the last 5 years. And somehow, every chapter has been bigger than the last.

From becoming one of our first ambassadors, leading the inaugural Horizon Van Tour, and sharing the first Offgrid adventure with us – to taking us along while cycling from Hamburg to the North Cape. Only for her biggest adventure yet to come:

20,000 kilometers. 14 months and 3 days. Freiburg to Cape Town by bike.

Together with her best friend, she has turned it into a film. And together with us, into a film tour shirt that reflects the simplicity yet intensity of her journey south.

They made it! Four days offline — and somehow it flew by. We couldn’t wait to hear every story from the road, and after following along via GPS from the road, we already knew some memorable ones were headed our way.

When the teams finally arrived, they made one last collective decision: phones stay off for the night. One more evening, together, offline.

Thank you to everyone who took part and made Off Grid what it is. An experience that’s impossible to put into words. Classic case of: you had to be there.

May this be your reminder: you still have time to convince your parents to go on a bikepacking trip with you.

When Sven and Lea’s application landed in our inbox, we were hooked immediately. Father and daughter, two generations, one shared love for cycling. Sven brings decades of bikepacking experience and grew up long before smartphones existed. Lea was most excited for the challenge of going four days completely offline.

Seeing you out here together is exactly why we do this. Thank you for being part of Off Grid, Lea and Sven. 💌

Finding comfort in the discomfort of being offline.

Three days in, the Off Grid participants have fully settled into life without a screen in sight. At least their gear is sorted.
