El Ático de Lanzarote

One of our lovely volunteers has knitted and crocheted all these comfort dollies for us. They are sitting in a basket on our manager Marián's desk at the moment. El Ático of course helps people in need, island-wide, and sometimes that includes families with children, who need a Pocket Buddy to tell their troubles to. I believe one of the dolls has already found a home!

If you want one for yourself, a small donation would be appreciated; whatever you can spare, but please be mindful of the time and love that went into making these little characters when you dig into your pocket or open your purse, and be generous as you can. Just pop along to to our warehouse during opening hours, and grab yourself a few other bargains while you are at it!

If any of you are knitters or crocheters and would like to make some pocket buddies/comfort dollies, to help refill our basket that would also be appreciated. We are so incredibly grateful for every donation that comes through our doors. Your generosity is what allows us to continue supporting those in need in our community.

To help us raise as much money as possible, we kindly ask that you keep one simple rule in mind when clearing out your wardrobes, cupboards and living rooms : if you wouldn't buy it or give it to a friend, please don't donate it to us.

We love receiving high-quality clothing, furniture and household items that are clean, complete, and in great condition. These are the items that sell quickly in our shop and generate the vital funds we need to give back to the Lanzarote community. Unfortunately, stained or damaged clothes or broken or cracked household items cannot be sold and disposing of unusable donations actually costs us money—money that should be going directly to the people who need it most.

Thank you so much for your understanding and for continuing to support our mission with your wonderful, pre-loved items. We couldn't do this without you.
