Did you know....Singing is a natural antidepressant?
I just love this quote from Grammy winning composer and conductor Eric Whitacre - he also shares how singing is a universal built in mechanism designed to cultivate empathy and compassion. From my years as a singer I know how it brings people together and connects people to their emotions which is super cool!
So can we add singing to our wellbeing tool kit? A daily blast of I’m every women in the shower to clean away the autumnal cobwebs 🕸 is well worth a go, don’t you think?
Perhaps now you are thinking but I hate my voice I can’t sing, my family tell me I am time deaf. Well I give you permission to sing out string - something my guest (this Sunday on Cosmic Soul Sessions) Emma Rowland is an expert on.
Singing among many things it helps us to be more confident, combats anxiety, strengthens our immunity, offers us a sense of belonging and totally is a natural antidepressant.
