A Quick Look at the NASA Logo—did you know it’s called the “meatball”?

Designed in 1959, this iconic insignia represents space, aeronautics, and exploration.

From 1975 to 1992, NASA used the modern “worm” logo before reverting to the meatball.

The NASA seal is reserved for formal occasions, while mission patches and event logos highlight specific projects. These symbols reflect NASA’s legacy and future vision.
