Epimonia Epimonía is a refugee-founded fashion label with a central mission of supporting refugees.

We upcycle material from life jackets that were worn by refugees on the Mediterranean Sea and discarded upon arrival in Greece. We are driven to break down negative stereotypes of refugees often seen in the media. We use our platform to collaborate and partner with refugee organizations, sports teams, artists, and more to share inspiring refugee stories. Our goal is to create awareness and elevate the global refugee community.

My parents grew up in Somalia, where everyone knew each other, spoke the same language, and shared the same religion. Here in America, everything they were accustomed to had changed. They suddenly dealt with the absence of family and friends, a difficult language barrier, and a religious intolerance. My parents, even with these difficult circumstances, still worked to provide for me and my siblings. My mother, a resilient woman, found a way to use her skills from Somalia to succeed here in America. While working her other job, my mother began to sell baked goods and doing henna out of our house.

Epimonia is on a mission to spread hope and love through providing support for refugees in The United States with the opportunity for education and advancement. We have created a fashion accessory and apparel company where 50% of profits go to fund this mission.

Our bracelets are made from repurposed life jackets worn by refugees while fleeing to Greece and manufactured by refugees at the Dream Factory.
