Born from Zied’s travels and excursions, at Baziszt, we believe textiles are more than meets the eye, they’re vessels to a cultural heritage. We create unique clothes from vintage fabrics that tell the stories of the past but are made to live in the present and for many years to come. The fabrics we use are vintage, deadstock or completely organic materials such as h**p. Sourcing our fabrics from

flea markets and souks all over the world is not only an ecologically relevant choice, it has also allowed us to draw inspiration from vintage linens and tablecloths that became a crucial part of our creative process. Because for us, the most beautiful resources are those that already exist. Our clothes exude the lightness of the north african and mediterranean atmosphere imbued with Indian embroidery savoir-faire. Bazizst champions an unapologetic lifestyle: living life to one’s full potential, never apologizing for who you are and never hiding your truth. Baziszt garments have a transformational quality. They help mold you into the person you aspire to be. Nothing is more sublime than authenticity and respect for others. These are the values that we hope to convey to our community through the ethereal cuts of our shirts. Our products are handcrafted by a collective of dyers, weavers, embroiderers and tailors, with respect for the environment and zero cruelty.

In the 1930s, palm and sun symbols could often be found on hotels, postcards, and travel items across the Mediterranean.

“the Arabic word for sun ”references the graphics and markings used on early travel goods and the desert landscapes described in Tunisian poetry of the period.

Before wallpaper was printed, it was painted! Entirely by hand.

In the 17th and 18th centuries, Chinese wallpapers were created as artworks, not decoration. Each panel was individually painted with delicate scenes of birds, flowers, and garden! They were not mass-produced decore! No two scenes were the same!

What’s even more fascinating: they weren’t made for China.
They were crafted almost exclusively for export, made in workshops in Canton and shipped to Europe where they transformed interiors into immersive, dreamlike landscapes.

Archive Nº2: Simple, but a little unexpected.

In this 1938 portrait, Max Ernst sits calmly on a child’s rocking horse, dressed sharp, completely composed, and slightly out of place. That contrast is exactly the point.

As a founder of Surrealism, Ernst explored the space between dream and reality, where things feel familiar, but not quite right. Here, a symbol of childhood is frozen in time. Something playful becomes still.

For us, it’s a reminder that the most interesting ideas often come from subtle contradictions.
