Lately, I’ve been noticing a shift from purely geometric forms toward more object-based references in fashion.
It made me think about what happens when we move beyond simply turning an object into a garment or accessory. Instead of copying its appearance, what if we extract the way it behaves, how its form is constructed, how its parts relate to each other β€” and translate those qualities into a contemporary design without losing a modern aesthetic?
I started thinking about this as a methodology: what steps would allow me to observe a source, abstract its essential principles, and then translate them back into actual design decisions?
