Unique Design X Group is a female-founded boutique design fair for the promotion of collectible design furniture, its community of creators and galleries.

Our goal is to enhance the collectible design community by encouraging innovation and creativity.

TACTILE

Through stone, hair, and leather there is an organic paradox that emerges in their marriage. The sensory dialogue evokes a capacity where surface becomes memory and material becomes an orchestra. The art rests in the embodied feeling.

This work by Aldo Álvarez Tostado reveals how objects can hold the current of emotive weight, encapsulating softness, tension, presence and the intimacy of how we encounter it.

Occidente Galería invites a sensory relationship with object and material, one rooted in the ephemeral experience of texture.

In the constraint of form, we are visited by nuance to experience the vestige of feeling. There is poetry that exists in the language of materiality.

The galleries and artists we continue to cultivate creative dialogues with approach juxtaposing materials with a refined knowledge of how form speaks with and against one another.

As glass intersects stone, Lika’s work at this year’s Mexico City edition is a study in both elegance and strength; it evokes something that straddles the axis between mystery and abstraction. The blue-tinted glass evokes the texture and form of the stone that stabilizes the work, while also creating a visual liminality that challenges us to explore the textured space of emptiness, reflection, and balance.

The union of rough, hardened edges and sleek, reflective glass commands a sensation of materiality that is both a question and an answer to surrender into. The language of the work perhaps is an invitation into the unexplored and the unexpressed.

Color brings us back to the moment; something that imbues both meaning and explorative play in our lives.

In both a creative lens and a universal lens, color is inextricably linked to our emotive worlds and how we connect, relate, and move through the world. Color communicates the ineffable that reaches beyond language and form.

This year, Carpenters Workshop Gallery presented “Jessy”, a sculptural lighting piece by Lea Mestres with a whimsical pink hue that highlighted her approach to designing objects in a space of play to ignite joy. There is an otherworldly quality that is both enticing and curious, but to experience the world as black, blue, grey, etc., would entirely skew the vibrancy of this imaginative invitation.

Color is a practice in feeling to create containers of reflectivity and discovery.

Unique Design X Mexico City was honored to host the launch of the second edition of The Savoir Faire — the annual magazine dedicated to French excellence, created by Mobilier National. The evening unfolded as a convergence of craft, culture, and contemporary design, where heritage met the present and savoir-faire was celebrated as a living, evolving language.

As we close the doors on our third edition of Unique Design X Mexico City, we’re moved by the artistry, energy, community and intention that was encapsulated at Expo Reforma.

This edition unfolded as a living dialogue between object and body, heritage and experimentation, craft and technology. brought to life by the extraordinary participants who shared their practices with such generosity and presence.

Thank you to the artists, designers, galleries, studios, and collaborators who trusted us with their work and their stories. Each piece carried intention, each installation created space for reflection, and together they formed a landscape of discovery that invited us to slow down, inquire, and connect.

To Mexico City, your rhythm, openness, and layered histories continue to shape how design lives in the world. Thank you to our visitors for arriving with curiosity, for engaging in conversation, for lingering with the work, and for making this edition feel alive. And to our partners and team, whose care behind the scenes who brought everything together and made this year remarkable and possible.

This edition reminded us that design is not just what we see, but how we gather, how we exchange, and how we imagine forward, together. Until next year !
