Uncompromising artisanal clothing

The beauty and challenge of garment dying : a difficult and somewhat unpredictable artisanal process, taking an almost finished garment as a blank canvas to give it unique depth and texture.

In these pictures and video, you can see the transformation of the Fireman Jacket from its original French cotton/linen herringbone & twill patchwork, to its final complex color and nuances.

The final dye result will always have uneven spots, that’s the nature of the artisanal process and working with natural fibers. It is part of the beauty of handmade steps, opposed to the flat, standardized, industrialized garment production.

After this stage, the hand-sewn buttonholes will be added, as well as the rivets, buttons and label.

Stepping outside the atelier for an afternoon, visiting this incredible “Couvent de La Tourette” by Le Corbusier, only a couple of minutes away.

The tour is led by a resident Dominican friar, offering a rare glimpse into daily life within this unique convent.

Here is a Special edition of the Pleated Tapered Trousers made exclusively for LECLAIREUR Sévigné this season !

Using the same fabric as the original Sack Coat to create a suit, it is made with vintage 100% Belgian linen herringbone, hand dyed dark and finished with oxidized Japanese copper rivets & buttons.

As for the original jacket, the fabric alternates from “right” to “wrong” side revealing depth and subtle contrast on the pockets and belt loops.

An interesting twist on this design that you can discover in store right now !

Now available at LECLAIREUR : a super lightweight black linen version of the Asymmetrical Sleeveless Shirt, inspired by the French undergarments worn by the army and peasants in the 19th and early 20th century.

It features tailoring details such as handsewn anthracite silk buttonholes and bar tack on the center back pleat, a technique traditionally used by tailors to secure the side of welt pockets.

A good alternative to the t-shirt for these warm days.

Back from Paris for this SS27 season presentation, where I shared a showroom with incredibly talented artisans and genuinely beautiful people.

This fireman jacket is where the one-piece construction concept first took shape during the early development of the SS26 collection.

Hems, facings, and pockets are all integrated into a single piece of fabric. To reveal the hidden architecture of the garment, I hand stitched red silk thread along its construction lines, a reference to the red piping found on the original 19th century French firemen’s jackets that inspired this piece

The jacket is made from black cotton Moleskine and Corduroy, both woven in France. The Moleskine has been hand-brushed to initiate the fading process and encourage a patina that will continue to evolve with wear.

An internal corduroy pocket secured with an Excella zipper adds a fourth pocket, making the jacket as practical for everyday use as possible.

Finished with hand-sewn silk buttonholes, oxidized Japanese copper hardware, this piece was made to be worn, fade, and one day carry the same character as the historical garments that inspired it.

Another new silhouette from the new SS26 collection : the Farm Coat.

This is the original version of the design : crafted in beautiful cotton-linen herringbone fabric woven in France by .metis and finished with natural leaf-print dye process, created through the oxidation of tannins naturally present in fresh leaves.

Deeply inspired by traditional French farming and workwear garments from the 19th century, I felt this natural printing technique was the perfect way highlight the coat’s rural roots and connection to nature.

It features a raglan sleeve, center back box pleat, two piece collar, curved patch pockets faithful to the original design and side gussets to enhance its subtle A-line silhouette. The natural buffalo horn buttons are sewn backed with leather from our friends at .reverdie.maroquinerie

These newly developed tapered pleated trousers also made their way to Osaka at

They were developed for SS26 Century collection, as I continue to mix classic French workwear garments to the tailoring craft.

In this case, the trousers are a combination of French workwear pants featuring single back pocket, a cropped length and room in the thighs, with the classic tailored trousers featuring the front pleats, tailoring construction and finishing (handsewn hem and buttonholes, fully taped inside seam allowances).

Materials are also a big part of the story : tailoring French linen « Terre D’Ombre » mixed with aged Japanese copper buttons and rivets, a perfect combination of the highest quality of both tailoring and workwear worlds.

Here is a new SS26 design, the Sack Coat.

This iteration is made using hand dyed dark 100% linen Herringbone, and features the one piece facing and pockets design developed throughout this « Century » collection : an experimental twist on classic 19th century garments.

Finished with many hand sewn steps such as attaching the top collar and silk buttonholes, with aged Japanese copper rivets and hammered buttons, mixing tailoring and workwear design language.

Take a look at this vibrant lightweight terracotta linen overshirt, an evolution of my first season’s design, already dating back 4 years ago. This iteration is quite unique, being made in a dead stock vintage Belgian linen, so quantities will be very limited.

Featuring handsewn silk buttonholes, collar and cuffs, hand burnt natural buffalo horn buttons, a relaxed collar design and single slanted chest pocket.
