The Alps don’t stop at the border. Neither does their craft.
This late summer, our journey through the Alps takes us to Bavaria, to Rottach-Egern at Tegernsee, where MICHAELA BUERGER is delighted to be presented at APROPOS The Concept Store.
A meeting of Alpine perspectives: alongside A N N I N A , ELIZA WEISS jewelry | Design Schmuck and Studio Van Der Zee , our handknits tell their own story of the mountains, one rooted in Austrian tradition, but translated for today.
As APROPOS so beautifully writes, for us it all began with a childhood memory: long winter evenings at the foot of the Austrian Alps, wool running through my mother’s hands. Years later, those memories still find their way into every piece, through traditional stitches, folkloric motifs and silhouettes reimagined with a modern eye.
Because memory doesn’t have to stand still to be preserved.
Thank you, APROPOS The Concept Store , for bringing these different Alpine voices together. We hope those discovering Michaela Buerger in Rottach-Egern these days will find something to wear now, keep for years, and perhaps one day pass on.
