We had an American day in last week. A delicious brunch with Fleur Alouche at followed by an exhibition of at le Grand Palais. I think Nan’s expo has finished now. But well worth looking her up.

Fleur Alouche and I got talking to Soledad Bustos, an artist from Argentina last week in Paris. She was lovely to talk to and very generous with her time. She was exhibiting at . She lives and works in London but curiously does not sell much of her art there (a matter of taste perhaps) but when she comes to Paris she starts selling! A thoughtful exhibition of women with a focus on their hands - it’s called The Swimmers. This was a joint exhibition with and Check it out if you’re in Paris.

Turkey is cat town!… everywhere you go there’s a moggy! There’s food dispensers, there’s locals who feed them everyday. They really are part of the community.

What a useful tool for refugees and those being displaced in the world. Icoon, a picture dictionary, alongside an app, to help refugees the world over to be able to communicate in whichever country they are in.

Divided into 12 categories for all life situations. The design is cross-cultural. There are also additional phrases in Arabic, Farsi, Urdu, as well as German, English and French, with which the individual pictures can be combined.

"The new symbols were one of the biggest design challenges. They had to be designed specifically for medical issues such as scabies, polio and tuberculosis. 180 new symbols were developed for phenomena including trauma, r**e, democracy and equality."

A tool needed more than ever today, with the amount of people being displaced in the world at the moment, due to climate crisis, war, disasters etc...

I love the honesty of this brand. Firstly, the name translated as without shame! Then the ingredients: Excessive in sugar. Excessive in saturated fats and excessive in calories. Then the second pack translated as little cow. Also excessive in sugars. Both delicious!! Thank-you we will eat them@in moderation!
