Hey !

Summer has been pretty busy at Medium, and some of our chainrings and other parts are starting to run low.

The good news is that restocks are already in the works.

We’ll also be taking a little break in September, so if you’ve been thinking about picking up a Medium part, now is a good time to place your order before the holidays.

This Kona Fire Mountain looked perfect at first glance. Then we rode it: the stem was too long, the bar too narrow, and with zero rise, the reach was all wrong.

We swapped the whole front end: Eugene fork, one of our Wrangler bar prototypes, and one of our new headsets, converted to a proper aheadset setup.

Small upgrades to avoid shoulder, wrist, and back pain. That’s the difference between a bike that looks right and one that actually rides right.

Hey !

After a full year without a single day off, our bodies and minds need to recharge. So we’re stepping away for a bit to rest, and come back with new energy for what’s next, including the Bronco frames, finally landing in October.

The shop stays open, but shipping will pause during the break. Order by Friday, September 4th to make sure your package goes out before we leave. Anything ordered after that will ship starting September 28th, once we’re back.

Plan ahead, and thanks for your patience and for your support during this year !

Hey !

A friend of mine, not even on Instagram, the kind that doesn’t care about fancy bikes, just wants one to commute, was at the atelier a while back. We ended up talking chainrings, and he casually said: “someone should make one that just works on 94 and 110 BCD instead of having to buy severals if you have several bikes »

I just walked over and grabbed the one I’d made last year as an April Fools’. Told him it wasn’t really a product, more of a thought experiment: like Schrödinger’s cat, it only exists the moment you decide to open the box.

He asked for one before I even finished explaining the joke. And he’s not someone I can say no to, so here we are. Opened the box. Made a small batch, with some extras to sell.

Still the same idea: not 94, not 110. Both, until it’s bolted on. Then it picks a side, and it exists.

Hey ! 👋

Quickly built this Kona Fire Mountain to use it for commuting, rode it once before realizing how long stems and narrow handlebars suck…

Will modify it to use a threadless stem and a Wrangler handlebar so I can get a bit of comfort, as I really want to keep that Project 2 fork.

The Eugene fork restock arrived. Our own new headset followed. One piece was still missing.

1 1/8 spacers, available now.

Hey ! 👋

We’ve been teasing the process for a few months now, but here it is, our own headset.

Most things in cycling have already been done, especially on a part this straightforward, two cups, a crown race, some bearings. Nothing groundbreaking, and yet we felt like making our own, on our own terms, down to the top cap detail.

For now, three colors and EC34 for 1-1/8” builds. We wanted to get one thing right before moving on to the next., but we are cooking more colors.

The 1” version is also coming.

The Bronco 29er is almost ready.
CrMo construction, Ed Coating treatment for long-term corrosion resistance, and a geometry designed for riders who are just looking for a bike to do it all. Just a frame built to be ridden for years.
