There is a moment, just before you enter a
home, when you already know something about
the people inside.
Their shoes are there. Not arranged. Not
curated. Just left the way things are left when
no one is watching.

In Japan, this space has a name: “genkan”. The
threshold between outside and inside. The
place you leave from and the place you return
to. Every departure, every homecoming, passes
through it.

For Spring-Summer 2027, Timothée Paris takes
the genkan not as an aesthetic reference, but as
a philosophy. What interests us is what happens
when genuinely different people, different ages,
different sensibilities, different histories share a
common space without negotiating it.

No one decides the genkan should look the way
it does. It just becomes itself. And somehow,
in that accident, a family’s character is written
more honestly than anything they could have
planned.This collection is about that. The identity that
forms not despite difference, but through it.
