2026 Met Gala celebrating « Fashion is Art ».
A custom gown from the Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2026 collection, conceived as a living work of art. The hand-painted corset references 18th-century painting, where light and shadow shape the body, echoing the tradition of academic nudes. Its motifs draw from Sabine Getty’s personal jewelry collection, integrating these intimate pieces directly into the narrative of the dress. A subtle varnish effect adds depth, giving the surface an almost illusion-like quality.
The silhouette opens into a dramatic train of torn, deconstructed fabric, in deliberate contrast with the precision of the corset. It explores a tension between control and fragility, between classical craftsmanship and something more instinctive, almost undone.
The piece required over 200 hours of painting, three months of development, and the collaboration of several artists and ateliers — a study in couture at its most expressive.
