In July 1992, French astronaut Michel Tognini docked with the Mir space station aboard Soyuz TM-15, becoming the third Frenchman in space.
He spent fourteen days in orbit running microgravity experiments as part of the Franco-Russian cooperation between CNES and the Russian space agency.
