𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗼 || 𝗯𝘆 𝗗𝗼𝗴𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲

I’ve been working on this piece, where some of the motifs are inspired by what we call in parts of Africa “the beautiful bird soaring above.”
This bird, le vieux sage, (wiseman), has stayed with me throughout the entire piece. A symbol of wisdom, guidance and protection, watching over the person who wears it.
The forest, nature, the sun and the universe are all stitched into this indigo Crop top
In this life, all is about a conversation between cultures, traditions and the stories we carry with us. ✨

✨Hey!! I’m now working from my apartment… It’s been a week since I last had access to my studio… Work in progress… Back to the beginning of this adventure, but I’ll keep posting occasionally.
This is one of my recent kimonos, fresh out of the oven today, and one I’m really proud of. Made with vintage indigo fabric and hand stitched sashiko. 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗼 || 𝗯𝘆 𝗗𝗼𝗴𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲

Cette jolie dame est entrée dans ma boutique il y a déjà quelque temps et je lui ai raconté l’histoire de ce magnifique tissu, connu chez les Dogon de la plaine du Seno.
J’ai tout de suite vu son enthousiasme, sa curiosité, mais surtout ce lien profond avec ce qu’elle venait de découvrir. Elle voulait ce kimono pas pour simplement la porter… mais aussi pour, à son tour, devenir témoin de cette richesse culturelle
Oui en Afrique de l’Ouest, l’indigo est un savoir-faire précieux transmis de génération en génération. Le bleu évoque la richesse, l’abondance, la fertilité… et bien plus encore.
Ces bandes bleues et blanches, autrefois tissées une à une puis assemblées, portent une véritable mémoire.

Aujourd’hui, je leur revalorise simplement, sans effacer leur histoire, mais en la faisant continuer. 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗼 || 𝗯𝘆 𝗗𝗼𝗴𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲

Exploration of heritage, where every step brings you closer to Indigo.
First, the detail. Then, the whole story.
Born from vintage indigo textiles, hand dyed by Dogon women in the far reaches of Mali, these kimonos tell a story … one of Africa travelling, inspiring, meeting other cultures and growing richer with every step. Indigo blue is divine.

Each piece is handmade in my small Parisian atelier, like a living collage. Details inspired by boro and Japanese sashiko give new life to these textiles, carrying stories from another time.
Designed to be unisex, You can rocks just as naturally on the beaches of Dakar, along the Breton coast, or in the streets of Amsterdam, New York and Paris…..
