For our Maasai earrings, while the design and manufacturing are from Italy , we source the glass beads from the Maasai jewellery .
Beadwork is one of the most celebrated traditions and craftsmanship across the Maasai tribes in Eastern Africa, it embodies its culture, representing tradition , strength and social status . Beadwork is also being repurposed , becoming an increasingly important source of income as local population can less rely today on other traditional activities such pastoralism , due to dryer lands and drought.
