The kids are gonna be alright! Santiago Campos, a high school student journalist, dragged CBS News on Wednesday at the 47th Annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards while accepting a $10,000 scholarship sponsored by the outlet.

The Mike Wallace Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a student pursuing a career in journalism in honor of the eponymous CBS correspondent. Campos received the award for producing a piece on immigration crackdowns in the US.

During the acceptance speech, Campos thanked CBS News for the “generous gift” before adding, “I want to acknowledge how the recent direction of the outlet stains the legacy of Mike Wallace, the namesake of this scholarship.”​ The audience looked visibly stunned.

“As corporate elites take hold over the very pipes through which our information flows, journalism that serves people becomes increasingly harder to come by, yet ever more crucial, and what the people want is the truth,” Campos continued.

“So, if at any time you hesitate to utter the word genocide or remain silent in the face of blatant lies - remember to ask yourself, Who is this for? I hope you choose us.”​

Scott Pelley, former anchor of  CBS Evening News, presented the award. “God, we need young people like you right behind us,” he said, adding Mike Wallace was “looking down at you with pride.”​

If you know Joanna Lumley, you probably know her as Patsy in “Absolutely Fabulous”, champagne in hand, in a lifelong standoff with the idea of time itself.

Decades later, the actress, presenter, and all-around British institution is fronting one of Lancôme’s latest skincare launches, bringing that same irreverent relationship to time into a more polished context. A longtime user of the brand, Lumley describes the partnership as second nature, rooted in products she’s “used for more years than [she] can count.”

The campaign introduces Rénergie Collagen Lift-Xtend Cream, a formula built around rebuilding 10 years of collagen loss, skincare’s most enduring talking point as we move through the years.

Casting Lumley, whose public persona has always flirted with excess, denial, and total self-possession, adds a layer of self-awareness that most beauty campaigns tend to sidestep. It lands somewhere between sincerity and irony: getting older is inevitable, but you can still enjoy the ride—and take great care of your skin along the way.

The timing is perfect, too: her 80th birthday is coming up on May 1st. Hope it’s ab fab!
