Hey lovely followers, how are you all coping with the heat? It's toasty today in Normandy at 31°c but I still couldn't resist trying on my new silk kimono which I found in a cute shop on ebay - samuraihorishop where there are many more beautiful items, all direct from Japan. We have been busy here at Aimée & Fred making orders and dispatching all over the world. This week we dispatched things to New Zealand, the UK and Germany. Don't be shy about asking for something. You will always get a better deal if you order directly.

Seal bookends being posted off today in time for a first birthday. Fred makes the wooden aspect, and I make the seals. We love working together and I think the items that require both of us are always the best. These are a first birthday present. Reading is a very special activity, so why not have special bookends for the purpose. Though we live in France now, Lola spends most of her afternoons reading English books. It's something she can get lost in, a wonderful way to pass some time.

What year were you brought into the world? I am a 1987 baby, I am officially vintage. I make these cards using my off cuts, so they are zero waste. You can frame them too, as they are ace for adding a pop of colour to a wall. Let me know if you would like one.

Made with an ink illustration, embellished with lace from the same factory that made lace for royal brides, a pearl button from my stash and some small bead trim from India.

Card making today. It's so humid here, I have to fan myself in between details 😂 . I enjoyed making this one, for a longtime customer, two more to make. This week is going to be a week of card making, as so many orders have come in, but I thank you as it's my favourite thing to do. This one is made with a pen and ink illustration, embellished with an antique bird of paradise feather for the tail, wool felt, sari scraps, a maroon feather, and few extra jewels from my stash.
